DECA

Mrs. Taylor DECA is a professional organization for students enrolled in marketing. To provide students with the opportunity to develop vocational understanding, civic consciousness, social intelligence , and leadership skills.  As needed      $20.00

Drama Club    

Mr. Smith  To be in a play, one must audition for a part.  No audition is required to work backstage. We stage three productions a year. One in the fall, the winter and a musical in the spring. One general organizational meeting, the rest are practices and rehearsals for productions.     None

Earth Club

Mrs. Cottingham Anyone interested in science and fun. Field trips to businesses, parks, preserves, and museums.  There are also after school activities such as tie-dying, stream quality testing, and recycling.  Emphasis is placed on environmental awareness.     Approximately every two weeks None

FCCLA

Must participate in Family and Consumer Science class/  To promote leadership development through family and consumer sciences education. In class as needed $20.00

FFA

Mr. Korb Must be enrolled in an Agricultural Education Class. Field trips, guest speakers, county and state fair, state and national conventions. Summer FFA camp. Increase agricultural awareness in our community. Break down stereotypes about the program. Monthly $20.00

International Thespian Society

Jazz Band

Mr. Roemer Must be a member of the high school band and by auditions. Various performances, both in and out of the Ross Community. Tuesday and Thursday after school Must own
tuxedo shirt, black pants, and black shoes.

Mock Trial Team

Mrs. Eubanks Open to all students Students analyze a court case and assume the roles of attorneys and witnesses. Students compete against other schools, arguing the case in front of actual judges and attorneys. Includes the potential for state and national championships! Up to several times a week September - February: monthly March - June Team t-shirt, possible meals throughout season

National Honor Society

Mrs. Eubanks Must have a 3.45 unweighted GPA, hold two positions of leadership (one within 6 months of turning in information packet), participate in two community service activities, and a 1.2 average character vote by faculty council. Service projects Monthly None

Rambotics


Anyone Fund, market, and build a robot to compete in FIRST FRC competitions. (http://www.usfirst.org/)
In the Fall semester, members will help run a LEGO tournament, raise funds, and market the team. January is the start of the 6-week build session. April starts the travel and tournament season.

Rhythm And Motion (Show Choir)

Mr.  Finkbine Must be in concert choir and by audition One will perform a show utilizing costumes, song, and dance, perform at school concerts, competitions, and community events. Practice on Mondays from 6-8 and Wednesdays from 4:00-6:30. Competitions will be held on Saturdays. Varies per year.

Ro-Hi-Ti

Mrs. Jones Journalism student Publish school newspaper, write stories, photography, layout design advertising. The goal is to accomplish a high-quality student newspaper. Weekly meetings after school None

Rossonian

Mrs. Jones Anyone Learn photo journalism techniques, page layouts, publication software, and marketing techniques. The goal is to produce a high-quality yearbook. Weekly meetings after school None

Skills USA

Mr. Huhn Anyone This is a partenership of students, teachers, and industry working together to insure America has a skilled work force. This is a college tech prep course, we do field trips, Guest speakers, state, and national competitions. We have over 300,000 members worldwide. Monthly $20.00

Student Government

Mrs. Berlage Based on elections and candidates. Student of the month, Homecoming crowning, elections, decorations, blood drives, canned food drives, staff appreciation week. Once a month None

Volunteer Advisory Board (VAB)

Mrs. Gardner Anyone Serving the community by performing a variety of volunteer projects, while at the same time providing services for the students by helping them prepare for competition for jobs, colleges, scholarships, and selective organizations. Meetings are held once a month to plan projects. Officers may meet additionally. We typically have two projects per month. None
