The AXA Achievement Scholarship

DEADLINE: December 15, 2017

The AXA Achievementsm Scholarship offers college scholarships of $2,500, $10,000 and $25,000 to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community or the workplace. Scholarship winners are known as AXA Achievers. They are ethnically and economically diverse, but they share these qualities: ambition and drive; determination to set and reach goals; respect for self, family and community; ability to succeed in college.

Free Speech Essay Contest

DEADLINE: December 31, 2017

Award:
First Price: $10,000
Second Prize: $5,000
Runner-up: $1,000
Drawing: $500

High school juniors and seniors for the 2017-18 school year are eligible to participate in FIRE's essay contest.
To enter, students must submit an essay between
800 and 1,000 words on the provided topic.

Morgan Ross Athletic Association (MRAA) Senior Scholarship

DEADLINE: TBA- Spring 2018

Award: $750

**Applicant must reside in Ross or Morgan Township or attend a school in the Ross Local School District.

**Applicant's family must be a current member or a past member for three years of the MRAA

**Applications must be typed or prepared on a computer

**Must have received a Varsity letter in this year's season

**Must be accepted to a 4 year college/university

Award: $1,000

**Must have attended Ross High School/ Butler Tech all 4 years of high school

**Must have one of the following: - 2 Years Cross Country - 2 Years Track - 1 Year Cross Country and 1 Year Track

**Minimum GPA of 2.0

**Must have received a Varsity letter in this year's season

**Must be accepted to a 4 year college/university

Alumni Association Scholarship

DEADLINE: TBA- Spring 2018

Award: $1,200

NOTE: This scholarship is for students who will be attending Career, Technical, Vocational, or Trade Schools (Some examples include, but are not limited to: Butler Tech, Diamond Oaks, Aveda Midwest Culinary Institute, The Art Institute)

**Must have attended Ross High School/ Butler Tech all 4 years of high school

**Must have already been accepted by the school of your choice

**Must have the recommendation of 2 faculty members

Tony Hinson Memorial/ Ross Athletic Booster Scholarship

DEADLINE: TBA- Spring 2018

Qualifications:

- Must be a Ross High School or Butler Tech
senior that has attended Ross all 4 years

- Must have received a Varsity letter in this year’s season

- Minimum GPA of 3.0

- Must be attending a 2 or 4 year college/university

- Parents/guardians must be a paid booster member by April 15th.

Parent must work at least one night in the concession stand. If your sport does not have a concession stand, you must work at another sporting event. Parents must attend at least two Booster meetings (2nd Monday of each month) by the May meeting.

- 5 scholarships will be awarded at $1,000.00 each for a total of $5,000.

If fewer than 5 applications are eligible, the $5,000.00 will be split among the total number eligible.

- ALL criteria must be met to be eligible!

Student Services by April 14th

The Lions Club of Ross Ohio Scholarship

Award: $1,500

1.   Applicants must

·      Be a senior who has attended Ross High School or Butler Tech for four years.

·      Be accepted/enrolled at any education institution beyond the high school level.

·      Have a minimum grade point average of a B- (2.6).

·      NOT be receiving any other major scholarships of $500 or more.

2. The student’s desire to further their education and financial need will be major considerations as well as academic achievement.

- Minimum GPA of 2.75

- Students pursuing careers in engineering, athletics or involvement with youth will be preferred

- Financial need and community service will be major considerations.
